Happy Birthday America

Happy Birthday America. To celebrate the 4th of July we put together a one of a kind combo of our Belmont liner and Solution shader. Our new stars and stripes coils adorn these celebratory versions of these machines. We also built them with all brass hardware. The best thing about this combo, is the price. The combo is a flat $500 and we are going to throw in a free all new Martin LaCasse Pulse T. How is that for a Birthday gift, combo is limited, in face we just have one set, so don't wait. Enjoy and be careful with the fireworks. UPDATE: SOLD

Cool Rigs

Two of our old friends hit us up this week with a couple of great customs we thought we would share. First up was this sideways backward set up from artist Jes Aristoy. He crafted this from an aluminum Pulse corsair prototype he had gotten from us years ago. Interesting idea for sure, he told us it was a good light liner. Oh yeah and the Force is strong with it, so how can you go wrong.
We also got an email from an old school friend Nick Mascola. Nick has always made these beautiful one of a kind machines. Everything always has great lines and a ton of hand work. I have always been a fan of Nick's machines and if you own one consider yourself lucky he has only produced a small number and each one is special. Good to see people still creating!

Some EST. In the Skin - Jay Langer

Artist Jay Langer just sent us these great looking shots of some work he's been doing using our new Established pigments. The proof is in the skin, this work looks great. Jay can be found at the Ink Factory Tattoo in WI.

The Great Socket Head Cap Screw Change Over.

Since the day we started building machines we had made the decision that we loved the way the button head cap screw looked. It had a very nice aesthetic and fit in with kind of look we were going for. Though the years we have had to defend ourselves against those who were unlucky enough to strip the button head screw. Trust me when I tell you, no one stripped more button heads than us, right here at Pulse. We became experts at dremel slicing them out. Recently it came to our attention again that we should consider going to a socket head on the rear deck, well we tried it out and liked how it performed.
So we have finally made the decision to change it over. We like the way it looks, but we love the way it performs. It is quicker and easier to get to the back spring with the socket head.
The wrench is so much easier to use and fit in quickly.
Also as you can see, you won't be stripping out the head anytime soon. So to all those who told us to make the move for years, we apologize - you were right the socket head screw is a better performer and we are on board, socket heads for all our decks!
We also have some fresh new looks in our machine boxes. Nice.

HELLO Kitty!

Sometimes even production machines go custom and one off...Our friend Dean Brockert (yes, this machine was for a man!) from Body Graphics Tattoo stopped by with this Fairfield he had powder coated in Pepto Bismol pink. Pulse's own Josh Grden is a fellow manly lover of pink and got right to work on Dean's new dream machine. I think the result was pretty awesome.

The Process (Archers)...

I spent a little time down in the machine shop last week, and I am always amazed by what they do there. There were some Archer frames coming off one of the machines, so I took a couple pictures. Our frames start their life as a solid block of steel. So cool!

Quick and Painless

This fall our friends from the Hope Gallery along with the Baroness, To Die For and Pulse International put on a really cool event entitled "Quick and Painful". They had flash designed for the event from a slew of amazing contemporary artists and designers including, Alex Pardee, Amanda Visell, Brandt Peters, Camilla D’Errico, David Horvath, Devilrobots, Frank Kozik, Greg “Craola” Simkins, Huck Gee, Joe Ledbetter, Junko Mizuno, Kathie Olivas, Pete Fowler, Ron English, Sam Flores, Shawn “Shawnimals” Smith, TADO, Tara McPherson, and Tokidoki co-founder and Creative Director Simone Legno. They then hosted the show in Los Angeles, Chicago, New Haven, and Miami. At each stop along the way the gallery packed in a ton of talented tattoo artists, including, Dan Smith, Jennifer Trok, Heath Rave, Sean Adams, Patrick Cornolo, Jime Litwalk, Tim Harris, Phil Young, Julio Rodriguez, Scott White, Christian Perez, Eric Merrill, and Joe Capobianco. Every venue was a sell out with lines around the block to get these collector tattoos. The limited edition flash sets from the shows are still available through the Hope Gallery. We were happy to be a sponsor of such cool events with such creative people. Sometimes it's good for the soul to sponsor events like this. Thanks to everyone who came out and to the other sponsors for making this event happen.
